Two different things wear the Strawn Games name, and they have completely different answers. This page covers both, in that order.
This website collects nothing
strawn.games and play.strawn.games are static pages. No sign-in. No cookies. No analytics. No tracking pixels. No third-party scripts. Nothing on either site loads from anywhere but our own server. We do not know that you visited, how long you stayed, or what you read.
The company that hosts the sites keeps the ordinary access log every web host keeps — an address, a browser name, a page, a time. We do not read it, do not export it, and do not connect it to a person.
There is nothing to buy here, no account to create, and no newsletter. If you email us or message us on Discord, we have your message, because that is what a message is.
The Minecraft server is the part that matters
Our private Minecraft world is a separate thing from these web pages, and it is where any real information lives. If your child plays on it, here is everything we hold.
What we receive
- Your child's Minecraft username. You give it to us so we can add them to the invite list. We do not ask for their real name, age, school, address, photograph or email, and you should not send them.
- Server identifiers. Minecraft and the Bedrock bridge use account identifiers so the same player is recognised next time.
- What they type in the game. The server writes chat to a file on the computer in our house — both what players say and what the characters in the world say back.
- Ordinary game data. Where they have been, what they have built, what they are carrying. This is how any Minecraft server works; the world could not exist without it.
- Safety and rollback records. Moderation and protection tools may record commands, sign text, block changes, coordinates and rollback history so we can fix griefing or review an incident.
What we do not do
- We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone.
- We do not use it to train anything.
- We do not advertise, and there is nobody to advertise to.
- No third-party analytics or trackers are attached to your child's play.
- Safety, moderation and rollback tools run on our own server. Their records stay with us.
Who can see it
The two of us who run the world. Nobody else has an account on the machine it lives on.
How long we keep it
Raw chat is kept only as long as it is useful for running the world safely, and then deleted. We are setting that period now, publishing it here, and actually doing the deleting — a retention promise nobody performs is worse than none.
Game data — a build, an inventory, a rollback record — may live longer than raw chat because that is how the world is repaired and remembered. If a parent asks for removal, we explain what can be removed cleanly and what remains in the world, incident records or backups until those backups rotate.
Getting it removed
Ask, and we remove your child from the invite list and delete the separable records we can. You do not need a reason and we will not ask for one. See Children's privacy for how to ask and what happens next.
Where this service is offered
This service is intended for users in the United States. It is a private world for one family's friends and it is not offered to the public anywhere.
Who is responsible
Bandy Strawn, an individual residing in New Hampshire, trading as Strawn Games. Reach us through the parent Discord linked from play.strawn.games, or through the family who invited you.
If this page changes
The date at the top is when it was last reviewed. If we ever change what we collect or how long we keep it, we tell the parents of children on the server directly rather than quietly editing this page and hoping.
